Spring is here, and the hotness of summer is getting closer. We can feel it in the air and in the music. This time we travel to south america, where Copia Doble Systema find their inspiration. Copia Doble Systema is a unique Copenhagen act, mixing Cumbia and electronic music. They have been a hype in the blogosphere for quite some time, getting their music played by major DJs from around the world. Their first EP “Cumbia Colegiala” is now ready for release, featuring a diverse selection of remixes.
Thykier part of Junkyard Productions and percussion especialista fuse Cumbia and Samba to a sweaty dancefloor tune. Chico Mann part of the world famous Antibalas afro beat collective bring his signature latin old school electro vibes into an futuristic out of date version. And last but not least, we have the international Maga Bo creating a effect-full cumbia dancefloor bomb.

For the first time Uproot Andy leaves the american continent to bring his interpretation of new roots dancemusic to old europe. He was invited by the remexican brothers (mash it up! / crowdkrushers) for a weekendtrip to spin in cologne and tübingen in germany. These brothers are pushing the “Onda Cumbiambera Tropical” to the fullest… ask “el hijo de la cumbia” or “Toy Selectah” who also came to play at these spots in 2009!

This time we thought we’d check up on a artist that is Europe based, to see what he thinks about the “movement” on the other side of the Atlantic, and of course to ask him about himself and his work. As you might have guessed from the header I’m talking about the talented Dj/Producer Tanox aka Doma Tornados. He’s spitting out remixes at the moment, and is involved in various projects, among other the Sound America mix series that we’ve been posting here at Emayo Cutz.
