We present to you a new player on the Cumbia scene, Gux Swadharma, a Colombian floklore musician and producer. With a backgrond in ragga, rock and fusion he has many sources of inspiration and this comes through in his Cumbias…. Over the last weeks he has released a bunch of his stuff on soundcloud, and it sounds really promising! Enjoy!

El Systema Solar es un colectivo músico-visual de la costa Caribe de Colombias que e formó en 2006. Su objetivo es crear espectáculos audio-visuales con su estilo propio que llaman “Berbenautika“, inspirándose en la tradición de los Pikos (sistemas de sonidos colombianos) y la verbena (fiesta popular). Reciclan de manera improvista la música afro caribeña y folclórica Colombiana como la Cumbia, el Porro, el Fandango, la Champeta, y la fusionan con ritmos electrónicas y estilos culturales actuales tales como el Hip Hop, House, Techno, Breakbeat, Breakdance, Scratching y el video en vivo, Saborrrr mi gente!!!

Systema Solar is a musical – visual group of Colombias’s Caribbean coast that was formed in 2006. The groups aim is to create audio-visual shows with their own style called “Berbenautika“,  inspired by the tradition of the Pikos (Colombian sound systems) and the verbena (popular street party). In an improvising way they recycle the Afro Caribbean and traditional Colombian music as the Cumbia, the Porro, the Fandango and the Champeta, and fuse it with electronic rythms and such cultural styles as the Hip Hop, House, Techno, Breakbeat, Breakdance, Scratching and live visuals, Saborrrr people!!!
